About the opportunity:

We're looking for a qualified and experienced carpenters to relocate to New Zealand.

We are offering an opportunity to get a long-term contract (minimum 1 year + extentions) with a construction company working across New Zealand. With the prospect of residency and later citizenship.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair a variety of products (walls, roofs, windows, and doors)
  • Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials
  • Perform work in accordance with safety best practices
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition
  • Conduct building inspections and identify needed repairs
  • Document repairs and maintain thorough records
  • Cut, shape, and alter materials as needed
  • Build doors, cabinets, and windows
  • Measure and mark materials for alterations

Your tasks may include:

  • Framing, hardware, insulations, joinery, concrete work, siteworks, trims, and finishing, windows, and doors, erecting walls, building stairs, or precision tasks such as repairing furniture or installing cabinets, trim and moulding. Excavations, demolition work, precast erection, reinforcing steel, roof framing.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of general carpentry experience and completion of an apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (European experience is a plus)
  • Basic reading, writing, and speaking skills (in English)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics
  • Comfortable using ladders and scaffolding
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand, air, and power tools
  • A basic level of maths
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
